The Origin of the Etruscans - Beekes
Doric was the conventional and traditional dialect in which choral lyric poetry, the Laconian Alcman, the Theban Pindar and the choral songs of Attic tragedy (stasima) were written. This fits and is consistent with the theory that tragedy originated in Corinth. In contrast epics, like those concerning the Trojan war and its aftermath, and the voyage home of Odysseus by Homer were written in the Ionian dialect.
